Logitech wave corded
Logitech G5 - single-thumb button version

have just baught a logitech wave corded..

Before that i had a Logitech G5 - which worked fine when using this setup

adterrasperaspera.com/blog/2006/06/20/lo...5-review-under-linux

I then installed HIDPoint..

It has taken over despite selecting HIDPoint not to touch the mouse...

now the thumb button is the back button and the side-scroll's dont work as back and forward in firefox..... any idea's?

Secondly - it has disabled my windows key which is used as super-key in compiz - which has created issues..... any know work-arounds ?

You can go to HIDPoint Configuration and configure the buttons to any of the supported actions.
Please let us know if you are not able to do this.

There is a setting in HIDPoint to disable the Windows/Compiz Super key (Tools->Settings->Disable Windows Key). Unfortunately there is bug with this setting wherein it is disabling the start menu but the super key does not work. We are fixing this issue and will post a new build as quickly as possible.

Doesnt matter if i have it enabled or disabled (windowskey/superkey) either way its disabled...
For now i've remapped keys for that in compiz untill you have fixed this issue...

I think theres issues between metacity/compiz when running HIDPoint as i seem to have issues assigning keys and getting them to work...

Any chance on being able to tell HIDp to not touch a specific device like the mouse ? as i dont need hid too manage it as it worked fine to start with.
Once hid is installed it takes over and things change which cant be corrected with hid installed..

But as for the mouse issues i have made a jimmy-fix with the open new link in tab in firefox

i used xdotool and made a execute file and assigned launch program and pointed it to that, but i still cant use the thumb button as i did before, it also double as a resizing link for folders in combination with the alt key.

i also have made a fix for using the zoomin buttons in compiz with a similar method, pritty sure one or two other users here would like to know how aswell.. will write a howto if u want...
