Mandriva 2008.1 Spring 6 Months ago
Hello there

First, congrats for the great effort putting on creating this useful app.

I'm running Mandriva Spring 2008.1 and my kernel version is
kernel-desktop-latest-2.6.24.5-2mnb1.i586.
Whenever i run the installer, i get a kernel not supported error message.

Is there going to be support for Mandriva and if yes, when ?

Thanks in advance,
Thanasis

Thank you for your interest in HIDPoint. We hope you will find the software useful once you are able to install it on your OS.

We have just finished adding support for Mandriva Spring 2008.1. We'll include in the next build(Before the end of the month)

Thanks for your patience!

Hello there. Thanks for your answer.

I would like to point out that the mandriva-dsektop-latest kernel is the only desktop kernel that lets you use up to 4 giga of ram. As i read on the Mandriva's site, the kernel automatically switches between SMP and no SMP when multicores or single cores are recognized respectively. This means that if you add support only for the i586 kernel, then it will be for no use to me and to other ppl that use more than 1 giga RAM.

Please take care of this. There are more information about the different versions of kernels on the Mandriva's site. If someone else knows more on this, then please correct me.

All support for this fantastic app you are building there

Regards,
Thanasis Emmanouilidis
