Self Extractable

HIDPoint is distributed as a self extracting package. Users do not need any additional software to extract or run the installer.

Wizard based Installer and Uninstaller

HIDPoint has a extremely user friendly wizard based GUI Installer and Uninstaller that make installing and removing the software a breeze.

Automatic Platform detection

HIDPoint's universal installer simplifies installation on multiple Linux Distributions.

User Mode Installation

Though the installer can be launched in user mode, the installer needs root privileges to install and configure certain system components.

Single binary across all supported platforms

HIDPoint has been designed for cross platform compatibility. The same binaries work on different flavors of Linux.

No runtime dependencies

One of the most common problems users face when installing software is figuring out the dependencies and installing them in the right order. HIDPoint does not require you to either install any dependencies nor compile any programs / kernels.

Driver works on Linux Kernel 2.6

HIDPoint drivers work only on the Linux 2.6 kernels.

Intuitive user interface

HIDPoint UI has been developed to make the end user experience as simple as possible.

Device Plug and Play

HIDPoint supports Plug and Play of devices. Devices are detected as soon as they are plugged in or removed.

Available from the System Tray

HIDPoint is launched automatically when a user logs in and runs in the System tray.

Supports multiple desktops

HIDPoint supports multiple desktops. Currently it has support for popular desktops like GNOME and KDE.

Home Page

HIDPoint displays all connected devices on the Home page. The user can navigate back and forth using the forward and back buttons.

70+ Actions

HIDPoint supports 70+ Actions. Users are free to configure each programmable button to perform any of those 70+ actions.

Per User Settings

Mouse and Device configuration settings are maintained per user. This means multiple users using the same hardware can configure the devices differently.

Magnifier

Magnifier is cool utility that magnifies the area under the mouse cursor. Users will be able to configure the size, shape and magnification factor.

On Screen Display

An on-screen display (abbreviated OSD) is an image superimposed on a screen picture, commonly used by modern televisions, VCR's, and DVD players to display information such as volume, channel, and time. HIDPoint displays OSD when any action is performed.

Multilingual (Coming soon)

HIDPoint supports multiple languages.

Customization of Actions

HIDPoint allows user to configure the available Actions. Users have the ability to restrict the actions available for them to configure.

The drivers are compatible with both 32 Bit uni-processor and SMP architecture.

Supports HID compliant wired and wireless USB devices

HIDPoint supports USB Wired and Wireless devices. Bluetooth devices are currently not supported.
